WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER

We are seeking an experienced, well-rounded, artistic Web 2.0 front-end developer. This person will help provide guidance for Web application initiatives going forward. You will have a fusion of skills in both design and development. You are expected to have deep knowledge of JavaScript as an object-oriented programming language as well as knowledge and practice using AJAX frameworks.

Candidates must have live samples of work for review prior to interviews.

The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:

Artistic design skills and understanding of the unique place of the web as a presentation medium
Guru-level Javascript ability
2+ years of AJAX development experience: in-depth knowledge of available Javascript libraries and frameworks
Understanding of cross-browser, front-end development issues
Must understand the fundamentals of software development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. This position will require coordinating development efforts and communicating across groups, both technical and non-technical
Ability to manage one's time effectively to meet multiple, tight deadlines
Attention to detail, a pride in the quality of one's work, the ability to manage one's time and meet deadlines, and an interest in maintaining high standards

Desirable skills and experience:

Strong understanding of CSS and HTML
Experience using JSON and XML within the front-end
Strong understanding of web services and their roles in Web 2.0 applications
Knowledge of MVC concepts

What you bring to the table:

A very high degree of work ethic and optimism
The ability to work unsupervised, ask questions when needed, research when needed and maintain priorities
Viewing difficulties as challenges to overcome rather than problems to solve

BONUS areas:

Experience with automated test suites
An understanding of cryptography
