Encrypted Storage
refers to client-side encryption. Many services encrypt your data on their server
(server-side encryption), which is a helpful defence against threats from outside their firewall,
but retains the ability for the service provider to access your data; they hold the keys.
Only client-side encryption prevents the service provider themselves from accessing your data. Enterprise Ownership refers to the ability of the enterprise administrator to access and control data saved on the cloud service. Without such administration, your data is controlled exclusively by the employee. File Sharing with Clients refers to the ability to share files with individuals or organizations outside of your enterprise, without loss of security and privacy. Portability and Economy refers to the persistent and scalable advantages of cloud-based applications. ** Most Encrypted Backup solutions do not offer Enterprise Administration ability from the client side. Those that do are often limited to activating/deactivating accounts. No ability for administrative file access, passwords resets, or other typical Administrator functions are provided. All trademarks are property of their respective owners. |
